Navigating the uncertainty of our world today challenges the heart to find new ways of connection. How do we connect with the divine? Each other? Find confidence in the abounding chaos to create a world we want to live within? “There’s a Psalm for That” is a bi-weekly introduction to a collection of wisdom and guidance written as a guidebook for such times in our lives. The Psalms offer timely words to comfort and support in response to the wealth of human emotions and circumstances. Using selected readings, participants will be encouraged to learn how the Psalms relate to their lives through discussions and personal reflections.

Jesus’ crucifixion left the disciples hiding: uncertain of what they had come to believe, lost and confused without their spiritual leader and afraid for their own lives. And yet great hope lies in the next chapter of the story. Join us as we study the weeks and years after Jesus’ resurrection. Learn how the early Christians were inspired by the Holy Spirit to bring Christ and the Good News to all corners of the known world in spite of internal strife, hostile crowds and secular forces. Explore how heresies challenged beliefs and influenced church doctrine. Journey Through the Bible II: From Christ to Christianity follows the events of the church from the resurrection to the Crusades. Enter into this most dynamic period in the early church and be inspired by the courageous and hope-filled leaders of early Christianity.

The Gospel of Thomas, found among the codices and manuscripts found in Nag Hammadi (also known as the Dead Sea scrolls), is a collection of 114 logia, or teachings, or sayings of Jesus Christ that were gathered by Judas Didymus Thomas, the disciple. Thought to be one of the most important religious archeological discoveries of the twentieth century, this Gospel, unlike the canonical gospels, paints an image of Jesus as a wisdom-loving sage, encouraging us to look within to our own Divine spark for insight and guidance on our spiritual journey. Join us as we explore, study and discuss these beautiful yet challenging logia that emphasize the value of the present, the imminence of the Kingdom of God and the journey from limited to unlimited consciousness.
This is the second part of an ongoing series; however one can join at any point. We will begin on Logion 40 and, contemplatively and reflectively, make our way through these sacred writings.
