Poetry

Welcome to a new addition to our website - poetry.  Below are poems written by me, Kelly Lemens, and others who have given permission for me to share their writings here.  I don't really consider myself a poet; these words come to me during my contemplative times.  There is a nudging to share them with you.

Broken
a poem by kelly l.

I came to you broken and raw
     depleted and crumbling
     under the weight of sorrow.

You held me,
     listened to my story,
offered a container for my tears.

Light penetrated the darkness
Fog began to clear
Sorrow lifted.

Joy fills me again,
a smile returns to my lips,
     wind carries away the deadness,
          revealing new possibilities.

Your Presence restored me
Life begins again
Thank you.

Turbulence

a poem by kelly l.
Turbulence.
Buckle your seatbelt
It's going to get rough.

Breathe. Deeply.
Send roots deep into the earth.
Sway like the tree-people.

Open. Get wider.
Allow the wind to flow through.
Open, or you will break.

Receive the gifts wind brings.

Morning Prayer
a poem by kelly l.

A silence so silent
A stillness so still
A depth so deep.

Falling into the abyss
Sustained by emptiness
One with You.

Presence ever present
Felt in the stillness
Heard in the silence.

Wellspring of gratitude
Love shining bright
Spreading beyond self.
