In the early centuries of Christianity, thousands of believers moved away from the cities and towns into desert caves and hand-made huts seeking solitude, simplicity and the Divine. Their sayings, stories and teachings began to circulate and eventually were written down, providing wisdom throughout the centuries. Join us as we explore this movement and become acquainted with a few of these amazing Desert Fathers and Mothers, studying their wisdom and insights into living a life closer to God. Our book study will include readings from The Forgotten Desert Mothers: Sayings, Lives, and Stories of Early Christian Women and Writings of The Desert Fathers & Mothers.
