Artist Profiles:
Bonnie & David Horn, Eagle Feather Artisan:
Bonnie & Dave do custom chainsaw carvings and are located in Silver Creek, WI. Check out their Facebook page at eaglefeatherartisan. Stacey Carlson:
Stacey Carlson is a professional, award winning Wisconsin artist. She specializes in watercolor and acrylic paintings and teaches watercolor painting to beginners. Check out her Facebook page at: staceycarlsonart Darcie Elshoff:
After graduating with an art degree in college, Darcie opted to work in the retail industry. After 42 years of a successful career, she returns to her love of painting. "I'm all about fun color!" Paul Scarborough:
A former draftsman and member of the pipefitters untion, Paul's interest in art began in the third grade and developed over the years. "When I paint something, I paint it with the thought of living it. I paint something that I feel is a part of my traveling in the local area. My style has developed to a point where, I think, it's become a much more personal look at the way I see things in the landscape...I want to make a person get absorbed into the painting and not just look at it and miss the thought I was trying to put into it." Rick Santovec:
Rick is an emerging "outsider" mixed media artist who creates contemporary art with a message. While focusing on political and social justice issues, Santovec attempts to engage his art viewers in open-ended conversations on serious topics. Without formal art training, Santovec has his own unique style as he explores race, politics, gender assignments, COVID-19 and even the very nature of what it means to be human. Santovec makes no claims to have any answers in his art, but he has questions - so many questions. Santovec is also noted for the floral photography available on his website at: rick.santovec.fineartamerica.com. |
Mary Boettcher:
Door County is one of my favorite places to visit and I've done several pieces of art with that as my inspiration. I like to create art that make my heart happy! Check out more of Mary's art at: maryboettcher.com Maggie Valasek, Lakeshore Maille:
Check out Maggie's Facebook page at: LakeshoreMaille Kelly Lemens, Spiritweavings:
APTB's own Kelly Lemens loves to create beautiful woven designs for our Regatta! A contemplative form of prayer, weavings has become her creative outlet after leading one of APTB's many offerings. John McGee:
John started painting at age 10 in his dad's photo studio doing touch up. He drew and painted in the Navy while free-lancing as an artist. After a successful career in the visual arts, John retired and now creates for fun, showcasing his beautiful art at area galleries. You can check him out on Instagram at dextifariousartist01. Tony Casper:
Tony began studying photography in 1971 and grew greatly in his skills after being critiqued by Ansel Adams. His passion is creating evocative artforms, often combining the human presence with nature's mystery and elegant simplicity. Check Tony's work out at: www.tonycasper.com. Ian Baker Johnson:
A Milwaukee artist, Ian is most known for her colorful contemporary art on canvas, paper and board. "I'm a process-oriented painter beginning each piece intuitively. I continue to listen to where the painting want to go and I follow. I continue to refine until the piece is complete." Check out more of Ian's work at: ianbakergallery.com or on Instagram at: www.instagram.com/ianbakerjohnson. |

Art Regatta
Featuring original art!
How it works:
Everyone who buys a $75 ticket (only sold the night of the event) will go home with a piece of original art, but which piece is up for grabs! Each Regatta ticket holder will be assigned a unique number card. After a social hour and preview of the art, card numbers will be drawn in random order. When a ticket holder's number is called, the ticket holder will have an opportunity to get the art item of their choice. If it already has already been chosen by somebody else, they’ll have to choose a different piece they like and so on
until all of the artwork is claimed.
Where else can you get an original, quality work of art for a mere $75 donation?
Whether you are looking to build your art collection, need a unique gift idea
or just want to support A Place To Be, we’d love for you to join us!
