Many Christian communities around the world grapple with seeing the LGBT community as “the other”. James Martin, in this groundbreaking book, challenges church leaders to reach out to the LBGT community with greater compassion and openness. Fr. Martin turns to three virtues – respect, compassion, and sensitivity – as a model for how church leadership and LGBT Christians can move together on a “two-way bridge” toward reconciliation and love. Although written for Catholics, Building a Bridge’s universal message of compassion applies to any Christian community struggling with this divisive issue. Join us for an open, respectful dialogue and be equipped with resources and spiritual exercises for the LBGT community, their families and their friends.
