Sermon on the Mount Bible Study (via Zoom)

Beginning September 14
Facilitator: Kelly Lemens
Donation: $25
The Sermon on the Mount has long been considered to be the core of Jesus’ teaching. In three chapters recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus spells out his vision for God’s people, sketching an image of what the Kingdom of God is really like. Using metaphor and analogy, and drawing from cultural nuances of the times, these passages can be confusing and difficult for modern day seekers to understand much less embody.
Join us as we explore these teachings through the lens of Emmet Fox, one of the most influential spiritual leaders of the twentieth century. As we study his book, The Sermon on the Mount: The Key to Success in Life, we will be challenged in the traditional teachings of The Sermon that we grew up with. We are also invited into a new way of understanding these teachings and integrating them into our lives so that we truly experience their transforming power.
(This book study will also read through the Scriptures; a Bible would be helpful to have on hand (no specific version needed))
Note: If you prefer to pay by cash or check in person, please register by emailing Kelly here.
