Advent Day of Reflection
"Return to the Garden" Saturday, December 7th from 10am - 2pm. Facilitators: Kelly Lemens and Stacey Carlson Advent invites us to reflect on light coming into the darkness, new beginnings in a darkened world. In the Beginning, light entered the world, bringing forth a Garden. What does that Garden symbolize? Join us as we explore that first Garden, with all it Goodness. Through meditation, Lectio Divino, journaling and creative art, we will reflect on our call to return to the Garden: What is the path back? What will sustain us? What do we need to leave behind? Throughout the retreat, participants will create their own watercolor painting of their garden, guided by artist Stacey Carlson. A light lunch will be provided. $50 suggested donation is appreciated. What our community is saying...A Place To Be has been a very special place for me. I have grown in my spirituality, and my closeness to God. Through the Religious Book Study led by Kelly, we explore so many great topics and have very deep discussions with participants in the group. I have met and gotten to know so many great people in the last several years where we have a great time engaging in the many discussions unpacking a certain topic or book that is truly life changing. -Gary I have been participating in many of the offerings at A Place To Be for about 3 years now. Why? I like the variety of offerings – something of interest for everyone. I have personally experienced the solemnity of drumming, in-depth book studies, informative Bible studies, educational and spiritual growth retreats, personal support and deep sharing within a Sacred Circle group, fun art/craft nights and Dine to Donate dinners to mention just a few. There are other events I have yet to attend like Friday potluck/game nights or Euchre card nights and more. I have experienced fellowship, emotional support, laughter and the forming of new friendships. I look forward to continued involvement in the future. Give it a try. I think you will like it. -Judy- Thank you!We would like to express a heartfelt THANK YOU to these community businesses who have supported A Place to Be with Dine to Donate events. We are so grateful for the generosity you have provided for us and for other organizations in our community!
